Still in Ocean Shores checking out summer housing options. Also checking out local happy hour options. We've decided you really need to be comfortable with the color gray to happy here. Sunshine seems to be a rarity.

I've checked out the tsunami info so I know what to do. It wasn't very comforting. It said to evacuate if you feel the ground shaking under you or if the ocean level recedes (which sounds a lot like "low tide" to me.) Add that to the entire peninsula being serviced by a single two-lane road and I've opted to follow the plan I saw on a T-shirt:
1. Grab your beer.
2. Run like Hell.
We drove out onto the beach yesterday. Some of the beach is considered a state highway. The whole time I was careful to check for a receding ocean or shaking ground. Luckily we survived.

This morning was a trip to the Quinault Rain Forest where we saw the largest spruce tree in the world. That was the claim at least. I'm really not in a position to prove them wrong so I guess I'll take their word for it.
Next was a trip back to the beach since we actually had sunshine today. I noticed a sign that seemed wholly unnecessary to me.

| Really? |
We followed that up with a happy hour/ dinner at a local Irish pub before calling it a day.
I don't know where this door goes, but it's where I want to be.
