Day 14 - Rapid City SD - 3088 Miles

Today was back wandering through Custer State Park. I've seen no state parks and few national parks that can compare. One of the most enjoyable parts of the day was sitting in a coffee shop in Keystone SD watching a tourist trap park across the street. They had a ski lift, zip lines and a slide back down from the mountain top, and a recently added "adventure course". This consisted of short zip lines between trees, rope ladders, and rope bridges between trees or elevated platforms. We had a great view watching people who seemed to be much better suited to watching from a coffee shop rather than actually attempting these courses. According to the barista it costs $35 for someone to put themselves through this torture. My coffee, Terry's Au Lait, and  a chocolate muffin only cost $7.50 with tip. I think we got the better entertainment value.

Tomorrow we do nothing with the possible exception of laundry so the next post probably won't be until we hit Montana.
